It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of David James Kenyon on March 16, 2024. David was a cherished husband, father, son, and friend whose life was characterized by faith, love, and an infectious, hearty laugh. He had a remarkable ability to draw people in, always eager to share his passions with those he held dear.
Born on February 2, 1972, David spent his formative years in Mechanicville, NY before relocating to Tustin, CA in 1986. Little did he know, he had moved just down the street from his future wife, Heather. David pursued his education at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA, graduating with a double major in 1994. He furthered his academic journey by obtaining an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2000. David's professional career led him to the semiconductor industry, where he excelled, eventually becoming CEO of Elevate Semiconductor ATE. Under his leadership, the company flourished, achieving global recognition and success.
Despite his professional achievements, David's true legacy lies in his warmth, humility, and genuine concern for others. He had a knack for turning tough moments into laughter and joy. A connoisseur of grilling and wine collecting, David's weekends were often spent hosting gatherings for loved ones. He also enjoyed competitive tennis, travel, and engaging in intellectual discourse. However, above all else, David cherished his role as a family man. His bond with his wife, Heather, and their son, Jack, was unbreakable, centered around shared experiences and a steadfast commitment to their Catholic faith.
David leaves behind a profound void in the lives of his family and friends, including his wife of 22 years, Heather; son, Jonathan (Jack); parents, David and Gloria Kenyon; sister-in-law, Christine; and niece and nephew, Lauren and Bennett, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends. David was predeceased by his beloved brother, Brian, on February 10, 2024.
A Prayer/Rosary service will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, March 26, followed by a Funeral Mass officiated by the Very Rev. David M. Leibham at 4 pm on Wednesday, March 27. Both events will take place at Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to your local blood bank. Your contribution has the power to save lives and offer hope to those in need, mirroring the compassion and strength David displayed throughout his three-year battle with AML.
