

David Basye Meisenheimer of Lakeway, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Jefferson, Texas on January 12, 1923, to Horace B. Meisenheimer and Margaret Wright Meisenheimer.
He attended Texas A&M from 1940 to 1942, when he was drafted into the United States Army to serve during World War II. After the war he returned to Texas A&M to complete his degree in Petroleum Engineering and Geology, after which he was employed by Texaco, Inc., retiring as an executive in 1984.
While in the army, he served as a First Lieutenant in the 410th Corps of Engineers and was an Intelligence Staff Officer.
During his working career, he lived and worked in Port of Spain, Trinidad, and as a Vice President and General Manager of Texaco in Lagos, Nigeria, and Zagreb, Croatia.
His love of Texas A&M University was demonstrated by his active participation in the Association of Former Students and The Corps of Cadets throughout his life. In 2007, The General Rudder Corps Scholarship was given in his honor by Freda & Ralph A. Fisher.
After retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively, visiting countries such as China, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and England. He was also an avid golfer while living in Lakeway, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, June Ware Meisenheimer, his three children Glenda M. Stephens of Lake Livingston, TX, Patricia Lynne Boesel of San Jose, CA, David B. Meisenheimer, Jr. of Carrollton, TX, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd., Lakeway, TX.
