

Dolores 'Dee' Louise Webber, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Austin, Texas, on September 12, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 1, 1936, in Houston, Texas, Dee was a vibrant spirit known for her loving nature and her unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Dee was the cherished daughter of Joseph Ervin Cogbill and Mariam Louise Marchant, and she carried the warmth of her upbringing into every aspect of her life. Preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Joseph Ervin Cogbill, and two husbands, Gene Ray Maddox and Floyd Webber, as well as her beloved son, Gene Ray 'Ray' Maddox, Dee leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Dolores Raylene 'Raylene' Treadwell and her husband Michael Kent Treadwell, and Lynn Rudell Friar and her husband Joseph H. Friar. Dee's grandchildren—Joseph Cory 'Cory' Treadwell, Brent Wilson Friar, and Wendi Elaine Todd, along with her husband Douglas W. Todd—brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, she was a proud great-grandmother to Michael A Metz, Jace R Miller Treadwell, and Brandon W. Todd, who will always remember her for her gentle spirit and wise counsel.
For over four decades, Dee made a significant impact on her community by owning a daycare in South Austin alongside her mother and daughter, providing a nurturing environment for countless children. Her dedication to helping others continued as she served as a Special Ed Bus Monitor for Lake Travis ISD, where she worked side-by-side with her daughter Raylene for ten years. Her loving and giving nature made her a beloved figure among those she served.
Dee was known for her sharp wit and headstrong personality, balancing her down-to-earth demeanor with a generous spirit. She was particularly fond of Thanksgiving, always ensuring that the occasion was filled with love, laughter, and abundance, creating lasting memories for her family.
In her final days, Dee received compassionate care from Suncrest Hospice, where her nurse Whitney and her CNA Merissa provided comfort, and Emily, her chaplain, offered spiritual support. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and respect shown to Dee during her time with them.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched with her love, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Dee's legacy is a testament to the importance of family, the beauty of giving, and the strength of a loving heart. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Dee will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620 South in Lakeway, Texas 78734. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM, following the visitation. A graveside service will occur at 1:00 PM following the service at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr. Austin, Texas 78749.
