Donnis Henry Buchanan

Donnis Ann Henry Buchanan, 82, of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 in Lakeway, Texas. She was born on April 5, 1944 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Allie Idell Henry and Lewis Don Henry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband Delbert Buchanan; sisters Elnora “Nodie” Linn, Naomi Henry and Gail Stark; and brother Loy Henry.

She is survived by sister Doris Engelke; brother Leonard Henry; partner of over 30 years William Lifland; sons Denny Buchanan (wife Julie) and Dean Buchanan (wife Talina); grandchildren Morgan Adams (husband Seth), Blake Buchanan, Brady Buchanan (wife Emily), Madison Buchanan and Brooke Buchanan; step-grandchildren Chelsea Crawford (husband Greg) ; great-grandchildren Brody, Avery, Riley, and Camille; step-great grandchildren Blaire, Reid, Isla, and Piper; and many nieces and nephews.

Donnis briefly lived in Arkansas and Florida before moving to Leander, Texas where she completed all her schooling. She had a modest upbringing but was a hard worker. Being a young mother, Donnis worked at the Lion’s Den Restaurant while raising her sons. With no formal training, Donnis later became the Finance Director for Leander ISD where she worked for approximately 30 years before successfully retiring in 1999 at the age of 55, something she was very proud of. Throughout her life, Donnis loved her time with family and friends, country music, dancing, gambling, wine, jewelry, crossword puzzles, and the Game Show Network, which she was watching when she passed.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Rd 620 South, Lakeway, Texas, 78734.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to AIM – Adults Independent and Motivated www.aimtx.org where Donnis volunteered at the annual fun run and her grandson has gained access to a life that was not previously thought possible!
