Skilled Nursing after a period of declining health. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 68 years,
Barbara, two short months ago.
Born on July 19, 1927 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Petrucci)
Lucchesi and the brother of Robert Lucchesi and Elizabeth Rodgers.
Ed grew up in Chicago, attended Austin High School, DePaul University and Loyola before
enlisting in the US Army. As a World War II veteran, he served as a medic and X-ray technician.
After the army, he returned to Chicago where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara
(Spain). Together they raised three daughters.
Edward made a successful living in the sales of automotive products first for Motorola in
Chicago, followed by executive positions at Panasonic in New York and Lear Jet in Tucson.
Lastly, with Barbara’s assistance, he opened his own product distributorship, ELF Enterprises,
in Kansas City, Mo.
Tired of the cold and snow of the Midwest, Ed and his wife retired to Lakeway in 1995.
There they enjoyed swimming, walking, the Lakeway Senior Activity Center, picnics at Lake
Travis, the Lakeway Library and frequent travel. Edward was a parishioner and Eucharistic
minister at Emmaus Catholic Church and a member of the board of directors Retama Gardens
for many years.
Edward is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Rowe and her husband Dr. Stephen F. Rowe
and their children Erin Monahan and Brian Rowe of Bedford, NH; Sandra Skorput and her
daughter Casey Skorput of Hixson, TN; and Gail Schultz and her husband, Michael R. Schultz
and their sons Kyle and Corey Schultz of Charleston, IL. Ed also leaves three great
grandchildren, Sadie, Danny and Conor; a niece, nephews, and his friend and sister-in-law,
Alice Paez of Chicago.
Ed’s family would like to thank the nurses, staff, volunteers, and administrators of Brookdale
Lakeway for their care of and friendship to both of our parents during their time with you. You
made Brookdale their home when we could not be with them. We
A service for family members will follow at a later date as conditions allow. In lieu of flowers,
