Ernest Edward (Ernie) Steinle, beloved son of Leo O. Steinle and Mary S. Steinle, late of Cincinnati, Ohio, went to be with his Lord early Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014, surrounded by his family and holding the hands of his beloved Jill Ann.
Ernie's life was one of loving and profound impact. The outpouring of love, support and testimony from his loved ones pay tribute to the legacy of faith, family and friends that he lived by and passed on to any that he touched.
Ernie's final wishes were centered on two themes: imploring his family to love and help those in need; and the longing for his friends to know the true joy of the Lord Jesus that filled his life and most preciously his final days. Ernie's hope in his future – and in our great and eventual reunion – was secure and we rejoice as a family knowing that as the scriptures promise: "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face."
Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Jill A. Steinle of Lakeway, TX, and his sons, Randall, Richard and Eric; his sister, Susan L. Flynn of Bellevue, OH and friends and loved ones too numerous to list, but individually precious to Ernie.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 Ranch Road 620 South.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Christian Compassion Center in Ernie's memory, a ministry that was close to Ernie's heart in its mission to reflect Christ's compassion to disadvantaged communities and those less fortunate. Donations can be made online at www.c3austin.org
