
We so appreciated Ernie's broad smile and greetings to my mother, Ingrid Pope, my daughter Lisa, and me at the Lakeway Church.  How surprised we were to learn that he knew my father, Howard Bloomquist at General Foods.  My mother passed away on February 28th, but she was almost 96.  He was so young!  I know you'll miss him,Jill.  We will too!

Our hearts are so very heavy to hear from Sherri about Ernie's passing to be with God!   Ernie was a great golfing buddy and our memories with Howard & Sherri will forever be etched in our minds.  We have known Ernie since high school days in Ohio and know the Lord has plans for such a great Christain man who gave so much of himself to others.  We know our times on this earth is so cherished, but also realize the final resting place awaits all of us in All His Glory.

I am honored to have known Ernie, the father of my best friend, Rich. Ernie's wisdom was Christ-centered. His actions made a legacy impact. The love he expressed to his sons and his wife will impact many generations of family and friends. Good fathers make good sons. I'm thankful for Ernie. 



Ernie was a good friend and we missed him and Jill when they left DE, now even more.  He had a great outlook on life and we know his family will miss him dearly.



One of the greatest pleasures on earth is Christians friends.Remembering the wonderful times of fellowship we had with you and Jill at Spofford and Cooperstown.Aristotle says friends  are a sure refuge and you Ernie were a refuge to so many.Paul and I are remembering you dear family in prayer.




Dearest Jill and Family, 

Like most others who knew and loved Ernie here at Cripple Creek, we were devastated to learn of his passing. Be assured that as you have his funeral service today our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.  Also know how much we regret that Jim's continued treatments prevent us from being there to voice our respect for a very dear man. I am sure you recall, Jill, that shortly after we became your neighbors in 2001, Ernie walked across the vacant lot that separated our homes, and welcomed us to the neighborhood. Our friendship was all very positive and you both became our very dearest friends. But perhaps his most important contribution to this area was the role he played in the founding and growth of the PENINSULA COMMUNITY CHURCH (PCC).  God will most certainly honor Ernie's entry to his Eternal Home because of his faithful work to make PCC a church for many. Only God knows how many people have come to know the Lord and how many others have found peace and solitude there during troubled times. Be assured that Joy and I can be counted among the latter group because this good and faithful man walked across that vacant lot to invite us to your church where we are still members nearly 13 years later. There is no doubt in our minds that we will have a joyful reunion with Ernie when God calls us home. This is not a hope, but it will be a reality. We can almost see it now. As we pass through the Gates of Heaven, there will be Ernie, walking across that vacant lot to welcome us home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family at this time of loss.  I have many wonderful memories of your Dad from childhood. Your parents always  made friends feel so welcome by having them to their home, no matter how big the family was! Your Dad was a wonderful example of a Godly man.

It saddens us to hear of Ernie's passing, but we know that he has gone to his eternal reward. Years ago, Ernie & Jill prayed our family into the Kingdom. How can we ever thank them enough for that? Ernie's daily walk with Jesus was an example of how to live, love and make a real difference in the world. Ernie left this world too soon but while he was here he gave more than most people give in a lifetime. He was a true Christian and is now with Christ our savior. 
Our neighborhood will miss him.

Ernie was an exceptional person to work with at General Foods and Gaines foods! Myself, like all that had the chance to be around him admired him very much. He made everyone better by example.



Dear Jill and Family,
We are just devastated by this news but we do know that Ernie is with The Lord and at peace and without discomfort of any kind.  The days we were together with you in Delaware were so fun and those memories will be with us forever.  Ernie's twinkle in his eyes and his wonderful laugh along with his profound kindness to all can give all of you comfort.  He lived a life of integrity.

Ernie was a real friend in Christ and a true model of what a good Christian man should be--faithful to his God,to his wife,children, grandchildren and his friends. 
Active in his church, Ernie had a heart for the poor and those in need--he was one of the founders of The Christian Compassion Center and constantly trying to "grow" the organization to help more and more of those in need. 
Ernie was also an active member of Lake Travis Outreach Partners a consortium of churches, crisis center--concentrating on assisting the poor and needy of the arena.
Ernie will really be missed by many--But we all rejoice in knowing that he is now in heaven. 



Ernie was a very special person.  His heart was as big as his adopted
Texas, and everyone who knew him was blessed.  I'll miss ya, pal.
