

What a man. He never met a stranger, remembered everyone's name and made them his friend.
Fred, age 83 of Lakeway, Tx. died March 1, 2015 after a 2 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda; his four children, Jan Pertschuk of Rancho Santa Fe, Ca.; son Clay Wells of Aspen, Co.; son Andy Wells (Dana) of Austin; and daughter Teresa Marie Wells (and partner Cathy) of Georgetown, Tx. His eight grandchildren include Sarah Pertschuk of Ca., Katherine Schmidt (Kyle) and Mia Wells of Aspen, Co., Christopher Wells and Jenna Wells of Austin, Tx., and Kyle Turpin and Karlene Turpin and Mason Turpin of Austin, Tx.. He is also survived by his wonderful sister Corinne Scott of Connecticut who taught him to dance; his Mother-in-law, Vlasta Svoboda and sister-in-law, Darlene Meyer (Alden) of Victoria, Niece Emily Molder (Ron) or Victoria, Niece Joy Elliot (Steve) of Houston, and nephew Chad (Sarah) of Victoria. He was born in Dallas 8/17/1931 to Georgia and Frederick Wells, Sr.
He was the original yuppy. Not long after graduating from The University of Texas, he was presented the "Man of the Year" award in 1955 at the age of 24 by Gov. Allan Shivers and the Jaycee's for his work promoting ticket sales for the Babe Ruth League World Series. Fred advanced quickly in sales/marketing and management in Austin and Manhattan, NY for 20 years and went on to own several companies, the last being AustinSuites, an Executive Office Suite in downtown Austin. He was an avid tennis player and dancer his whole life and enjoyed golf and selling real estate after moving to Lakeway. Fred will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
