

Our beloved, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Harold William Butler, a long-time resident of Lakeway, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, one day short of his 97'h birthday.
The family takes solace in knowing that he went to be with God peacefully.
Harold was born in Tonawanda, New York and grew up in Plainfield, NJ. Destined to be an engineer,
Harold graduated from MIT with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and went on to earn a Master's. He worked for Exxon for over 40 years, first in New York, then in Houston. He retired to the Lake Travis area and has resided in Lakeway, TX since 1994.
His love of his family, sailing, animals and woodworking enriched his life. He was a lifetime member of the United States Power Squadron where he served in various leadership roles. He was dedicated to boating safety and education.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Doris Louise Butler and by his son Craig Lindley Butler. He is survived by his wife Lucile Gray Butler of Lakeway, Texas; his daughter, Beverly Carter and her husband Ron Carter of Houston, TX; his grandchildren Marc Butler of Denver, CO, Damien Butler of Sydney, Australia, Scott Carter and his wife Angel Carter of Cedar Park, TX and Teri Carter Baker and her husband Beau Baker of Austin, TX; his great grandchildren, Trevor Carter and Brandon Carter of Cedar Park, TX, Paige Baker and Peyton Baker of Austin, TX.
A memorial service and celebration of Harold's life will be held at 10:30am on Friday April 12, 2013 at The Lakeway Church in Lakeway, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3520 Executive Center Dr. #140, Austin, TX 78731.
