J. Kevin Kilbane was, above all else, a family man. He was born on December 1, 1938, in the projects of Cleveland, Ohio, to Irish immigrant parents, John and Mary Kilbane. They were loving, hardworking people who strove to build a better future for their children—Rich, Terry, Mary Denise, and Kevin.
Tragically, the family suffered an early loss when Mary Denise passed away from a brain tumor at just eight years old. The grief was overwhelming, and not long after, both John and Mary passed away, leaving their children heartbroken. It was a time of deep sorrow, but amid the darkness, Kevin found his light in Ann—the love of his life and wife of nearly 65 years. Together, they built a life grounded in love, respect, and true partnership.
Kevin and Ann raised three children—Kevin, Denise, and Laura—and instilled in them the same values that had shaped his own life: hard work, education, integrity, and the importance of family. Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, followed by a master’s in the same field. His career took him around the world, exposing him to diverse cultures and experiences, and ultimately culminating in his role as president of his company before retiring in London, England, at the age of 59.
Those who knew Kevin remember his integrity, intellect, humility, warmth, and dedication to family. He was social and deeply connected to those around him. A gifted conversationalist, Kevin brought positivity, humor, and thoughtful insight to every interaction. He had a rare ability to make others feel seen and valued.
Kevin often said Ann was the reason for his success. They were true teammates—partners through every high and low, navigating life together with love and grace.
His greatest joy came with the arrival of his grandchildren—Brynn, Thea, Logan, Alexa, and Jake. Kevin cherished his time with them, building lifelong memories through annual family vacations, holidays, and shared milestones. He and Ann selflessly saved for years to create a fund that gave each grandchild the opportunity to attend college, securing their futures.
J. Kevin Kilbane leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for how he made others feel: loved, respected, valued, and deeply inspired.
Private services will be held at a later date.
