Jana Lou McCurdy

Jana McCurdy, born on July 30, 1967, in Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 4, 2024. Jana was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.

Jana is preceded in death by her father, James F. Watkins. She is survived by her devoted husband, Brad McCurdy; her sons, Brennon McCurdy and Blaine McCurdy; her daughter, Allison McCurdy; and her mother, Jerri L. Haltom. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them.

Jana's journey began with her graduation from Nimitz High School in Irving in 1985. In 2001, she and Brad moved to the Steiner Ranch area, where Jana became an integral part of the community. She was a dedicated volunteer at her children’s schools, always ready to lend a hand and support school activities and events. Her commitment to her children’s education and well-being was unwavering.

Jana’s true spirit shone brightly through her work. She founded Sav-A-Heart, a CPR training center, which she successfully built into one of six statewide preferred training centers endorsed by the American Heart Association. Jana’s passion for teaching life-saving skills took her across Texas, where she provided CPR, First Aid, and AED training. Her dedication to saving lives and empowering others to do the same was truly inspiring.

Those who knew Jana will remember her for her vibrant spirit, infectious laugh, and generous heart. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Jana enjoyed watching the Dallas Stars hockey games, often sharing her enthusiasm with friends and family. She was also an avid reader, finding solace and joy in the pages of her favorite books.

Jana’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her radiant smile and unwavering support.

A celebration of Jana’s life and a visitation will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 20 at Weed Corley Fish in Lakeway. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jana are invited to attend and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Jana’s honor, continuing her mission of saving lives.
