Born on 16-Nov-1951 in Binghamton, NY, John obtained his high school diploma at Phelps School in Malvern, PA. Subsequently, John attended Champlain College in Burlington, VT where he graduated with an Associate in Science degree in Criminal Justice.
With his college years behind him, John relocated to Atlanta, GA and joined the Atlanta Police Department where he served the people of Atlanta for about 5 years.
John relocated to Shelburne, VT where he joined the family retail shoe business. While living in Shelburne, John served on the Shelburne Fire Department. When the family retired, John moved to the convenience store and related retail businesses where he served for the remainder of his career.
In 2011 John moved to the Austin, TX area to be with family, where he worked for Randall's Steiner Ranch as a head cashier until his retirement.
John leaves behind three siblings. They are Harold A. Read, Ruth R. Pitkin, And Richard C. Read.
