Judith Wearne Anderson, 75, finally entered into eternal peace after a long struggle with the affects of multiple strokes. She passed away in her bed at the Bel Air at Teravista nursing home in Round Rock, TX, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 1, 1941, she was the oldest daughter of Norman and Pauline Wearne of Arlington, VA. She is the widow of Col. Robert Tracy Anderson Jr. who passed from cancer in 2001 and is survived by her sister Donna Wearne Oiderma, daughter Alissa Marie Anderson (husband Kyle Albertson), and son Evan David Anderson (wife Aneesa Wadiwalla Anderson).
Judy, as she preferred to be called, was a brilliant mind full of creativity and generosity. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1963 and went on to be a civilian educator for the United States Army. She was highly awarded for her work in teaching medical technology. She was married in 1975 to Dr. Robert Anderson and they had two children together, Alissa and Evan.
After having children, Judy became a dedicated and loving full time mother. She always maintained a creative spark in everything she did. Whether it was creating the winning Halloween costumes for the kid's school competition, or weaving a mop head into a rabbit, she never found a hobby to be too tedious. Whether it was sewing quilted tree skirts, or creating intricate beaded jewelry, her friends and family always knew her as an artistic soul.
She is also remembered for her intensely generous spirit. She gave her time and resources to her church as well as dozens of charities, particularly animal rescue groups. She also never missed an opportunity to spoil her kids. She supported them 100% in all their endeavors and always encouraged them to take their own path in life.
After her husband passed she became more stoic and removed from much of the bustle and activities of life. The last chapter of her life was quiet and melancholy as one could expect from losing a soul mate. Though she was reserved, she was a strong woman and was loved and admired by so many. She survived breast cancer, as well as several strokes, and still preferred to put others before herself.
She was a warm and gentle soul who loved deeply, in return was loved completely, and will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Coker United Methodist Church in San Antonio, TX on April 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. and her interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, CA, next to her beloved husband, later this summer.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful care provided by the nursing staff at Bel Air at Teravista as well as her Harbor Hospice team.
In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made in her name to the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation of San Antonio, Guide Dogs to the Blind, and Harbor Hospice.
