It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Justin Matthew Weathers, beloved husband, father, and friend, on March 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Justin was born on April 8, 1977, to Jerry Weathers and Cynthia Coats. He graduated from Temple High School in 1995 and went on to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. After moving to San Marcos, he earned a degree in criminal justice from Southwest Texas State University. Justin began his career as a corrections officer for Travis County before attending the police academy, where he graduated and went on to serve with the Austin Police Department, rising to the rank of Sergeant before medically retiring with 17 years of service in 2019. His career in law enforcement allowed him to fight crime, save lives, and make a positive impact in his community, a mission he took great pride in.
Justin met and fell in love with Michel Weathers of Lovington, New Mexico. The couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Mia Weathers, on February 19, 2016. Michel was not only a loving wife but also a steadfast support system throughout Justin's battle with his illness, alongside her own family. The family made their home in Bee Cave, Texas, where they created many cherished memories with friends and family.
Justin was an avid AC/DC fan and loved listening to music, especially the classic rock anthems that always brought him joy. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter Mia, cherishing the moments they shared together. Justin was known for his integrity, kindness, and caring nature. He always put others before himself, often offering a helping hand to those in need. He had a great sense of humor and kept those around him laughing with his many stories of adventures and shenanigans. Though his time with us was far too short, the love and happiness he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Justin was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Weathers, and his father, Jerry Weathers. He is survived by his loving wife, Michel Weathers; his daughter, Mia Weathers; his mother, Cynthia Coats of Temple; his sister, Brittney Naro and her husband, Jeff Naro, and their children; his brothers-in-law, Jesse Cabello (and family) from Lovington, NM, Luis Cabello (and family) from Lovington, NM, and Roberto Cabello (and his son) from Austin, TX; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin, Texas, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM, where we will honor Justin’s enduring impact on our hearts. Graveside services will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Temple, Texas, at 2:00 PM.
In remembrance of Justin's life and legacy, we invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating the love and light he brought into our lives.
