Born and raised in Rutherford County, North Carolina, Ken graduated from Western Carolina University and later received his master’s degree from Appalachian State University. He devoted his career to education and served as Principal of Buford Middle School, Assistant Principal of Stone Mountain High School, and Assistant Principal of Dunwoody High School.
Ken loved his family above all else, and he was never happier than when he was spending time with them or working in his beautiful yard and garden. He was an avid reader, a fixture at estate sales and auctions across Atlanta, a spirited poker player with his friends, and a devoted collector of Georgia folk pottery. For many years he also operated All Star Auctions in Cumming, Georgia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Brenda Lamb; his daughter, Rebecca Beckham of Austin, Texas, who was his pride and joy; his son-in-law, Cason Beckham; his three wonderful grandchildren Luke, Brooks, and Ella Reese Beckham, who adored him; and his brother, Doug Lamb, of Buford, Georgia.
Burial will take place at a later date at his home church, Broad River Baptist Church, in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
