

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of sixty years, Natalou Trott Pipes. Ken is survived by his son, Jeffery Paul Pipes of Lubbock, Texas and his daughter, Jocelyn Pipes Hake of Austin, Texas. Other survivors include grandson, Gareth Paul Pipes and wife Samantha of Rotan, Texas, granddaughter Allison Victoria Swan and husband Clayton of Lubbock, Texas, grandson Levi Allen Hake of New Braunfels, Texas, grandson, Sammuel Johnson and wife Natasha of Fort Polk, Louisiana and granddaughter Ashley Paige Carey and husband Brian of Fort Mills, South Carolina. He is also survived by great grandchildren Paxton Laurice Pipes and brother, Hudson Paul Pipes of Rotan, Texas and Cooper Ray Swan of Lubbock, Texas.
Kenneth attended Texas A&M University studying Geology and graduated in 1952. He married Natalou Trott on August 29, 1952. He served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army after graduation from college. Ken went on to work for Exxon as a geologist and Manager of Exploration until his retirement in 1990. His employment took Ken and Nate to England where they resided for many years. Ken's work required him to travel globally and he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity. Both Ken and Nate were passionate travelers and accompanied the Travellin' Aggies on many journeys.
Kenneth Pipes was the first Mayor of The Hills, Texas and was instrumental in getting the city incorporated. He was an avid golfer, skilled fly fisherman and a devoted Aggie. Kenneth will be remembered for his wonderful dry sense of humor, his extreme generosity and for his steadfast devotion to his family. He will be sorely missed and remembered always with great fondness.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd., Lakeway, Texas.
