It is with deep love and unwavering hope in Christ that we announce the passing of Linda Louise Solis, who went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 23, 2025, at the age of 79, following a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.
Linda was born in 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Frank and Olive Zappacosta. Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was a baby and would later spend several years in Venice, California. Her family eventually settled in Los Gatos, California. She was the eldest of four daughters and grew up alongside her three younger sisters, Janet, Francine, and Olivia. She graduated from Los Gatos High School, where she proudly served as a cheerleader and was known for her spirit, energy, and warmth—qualities that would continue to define her throughout her life. She also developed a lifelong love for flowers and gardening, a passion passed down from her mother, Olive, that brought her great joy and peace.
She later attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where she met the love of her life, Mario Roberto Solis. They were married in 1967, beginning a devoted marriage grounded in faith, commitment, and love. Together, they raised four children: Catalina, Mario, David, and Paul (David and Paul being identical twins). Linda’s personal ministry began at home, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her husband and children, faithfully nurturing her family in love and in faith.
Linda spent much of her life in San Jose, California, where she devoted herself to raising her family, faithfully serving in her church, and forming deep, lifelong friendships. Many of those relationships grew into close prayer partnerships that remained a vital part of her spiritual life for years to come. In 2015, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she continued to live out her faith through service, encouragement, and sharing the Gospel.
Above all else, Linda was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Her life reflected her deep love for the Lord, and she never missed an opportunity to share the Gospel with anyone who would listen. Even through years of illness, her faith remained unshaken and served as a powerful testimony to all who knew her.
She was preceded in heavenly departure by her parents, Frank and Olive Zappacosta, and her grandchildren, Alexander Solis and Gianna Buzzetta.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mario Roberto Solis, and their children: Catalina Buzzetta (husband Salvatore Buzzetta) and their son Salvatore Buzzetta (wife Kalei) and great-granddaughter Gabriella Buzzetta; Mario Solis; David Solis (wife Lori) and their children Benjamin Solis and Lincoln Solis; and Paul Solis (wife Stefanie) and their children Madison Solis, Emily Solis, and Katelyn Solis.
While we grieve her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. Linda is now healed, whole, and worshiping in heaven, reunited with her Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 am at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, located at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734.
