Marie Althea Harley, born on December 10, 1944, to James Muriel Harley and Elizabeth Georgie Butler, has embarked on her final journey to eternity. On September 27, 2023, she peacefully departed from her earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Althea’s life was intertwined with that of her beloved husband, Lt. Colonel George Edward Harley, who preceded her in death, patiently awaiting her arrival to escort her through Heaven's gate. Their love was a testament to the enduring bonds of matrimony, and their reunion in the afterlife is a heartwarming testament to their unwavering devotion.
Althea’s greatest joys in life were her children, Annissa Koren Couch (Corey) and Sheldon Andre Harley (Sonya). She poured her love and wisdom into their lives, nurturing them into the remarkable individuals they are today. Her pride and joy extended to her four beautiful grandchildren, Jacob, McKenzie, Kendall, and Sydney, who brought endless smiles and warmth to her heart.
Althea was also a cherished sister to her six sisters: Monica Diana, Judy Brenda-lee, Crystal Vonray, Maria Lucretia, Machelle Latonya, and Machete Beyonca. She shared a special bond with her four brothers: James Darnvell, Anthony Roderick, Patrick Deyona, and Lawrence Vondell. Their family gatherings were filled with love, laughter, and the unique closeness that only siblings can share.
A woman of grace and strength, Marie's earthly journey came to a close in Arlington Virginia, where she will rest in peace. Her spirit, however, lives on in the hearts and memories of all those she touched during her time on this Earth.

There will be a graveside service for Marie Harley on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 10 AM at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
