She was the mother of six children. Margie was an artist, an educator, a seamstress, and wrote her first book, A LIFE OF REVELATIONS in 2017. She published her second book, LIVING IN THE KINGDOM in 2019.
She served as Director of Adult Education at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Richardson, TX from 1984 to 1990. She also worked in prison ministry and was a Chaplain at Terrell State Hospital for several years.
Margie and her husband Don were accepted into the first Diaconate program for the Diocese of Dallas from 1976-1978 at the University of Dallas. Together Margie and Don served in numerous ministerial activities in the Dioceses of Dallas and Austin. Margie’s often said her greatest gifts were her 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. A truly beautiful person on this earth, Margie was full of light, life, flowers and so much love.
She was preceded in death in 2015 by her beloved husband of 65 years Donald Schnurr. She is survived by son Frederick Schnurr and spouse Joyce, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; son Greg Schnurr of Austin, TX; daughter Linda Saucedo and spouse David of Mesquite, TX; daughter Cindy Hambrick and spouse Geoff of Round Rock, TX; son Douglas Schnurr and spouse Dinah of Keller, TX; and daughter Laura Schnurr-Breen and spouse Bob of Rockwall, TX.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Angels Chapel, 20600 Siesta Shores Drive, in Spicewood, TX.
