Matthew Kirk Ripple, age 27, passed away on June 7, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1998, in Carrollton, Texas. Matthew lived a life marked by kindness, humor, faith, intelligence, and a genuine love for others.
Services will be held Friday, June 26, at 3 o’clock at Midtown Church, 4425 Red River Street, Austin, Texas.
Matthew spent his childhood in the Lake Travis community, attending Lake Pointe Elementary School, Lake Travis Middle School, and Lake Travis High School with the Class of 2017. He later studied Radio, Television, and Film at Austin Community College.
Matthew’s faith was an important part of his life. Through Midtown Church, he developed meaningful relationships with many mentors who encouraged him and helped him grow spiritually. His faith was integral to his own self-care and well-being. He knew the value of turning toward Christ to empower him through difficult times. Finding strength, hope, and comfort in Christ, his faith shaped his compassionate heart and the way he cared for those around him.
Matthew had a deep appreciation for music and was learning to play the guitar. He found joy and peace in nature, especially while hiking local trails and spending time outdoors. Those who knew him will remember his witty sense of humor, his gentle spirit, his cleverness intellect, and how very thoughtful he was. He had a gentle way of making people feel seen and valued and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Karol Kirk Mobley, and his grandfather, David McDonald Mobley.
Matthew is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Donna Mobley Ripple; his father, Curtis Ripple; his sister, Melanie Ripple; and his brothers, David Ripple and Daniel Ripple; along with many extended family members, friends, church mentors, and all those whose lives he touched.
Though his time with us was far too short, Matthew’s legacy lives on in the memories he created, the love he shared, and the faith that guided his life. He will be forever missed, forever remembered, and forever loved.
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
