Born June 22nd, to Nancy & Ralph Champagne, Michael grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. Attending Cathedral High School and Holyoke Community College. He served as a Petty Officer First Class on the USS Shark, in the US Navy. Shortly after, he moved his family to Austin to pursue work in the semiconductor industry. For the proceeding years, he worked in sales roles across a myriad of industries, while co-parenting two (perfect) children.
Mike was brilliant—annoyingly good at everything did: from learning Japanese, to his insistent explanations of thermal nuclear physics (mostly to the lay people among us), to playing the drums, and bowling perfect games… all born of his voracious appetite for learning. He loved music and film. He was a Boston sports zealot. Comic book devotee. A remarkable conversationalist. Superb friend. More than anything—he was exceptionally funny and utterly magnetic every waking moment.
He is survived by his adoring children—Sarah & Nick, his parents—Ralph & Nancy, sisters—Penny & Pam, and his nieces and nephews.
