

Patricia Ann Hope was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 27, 1934, to O.L. and Anna Mae Hope. She passed away peacefully on August 30, 2016. She was married to John Charles Rice for 56 years. Pat and John retired in Houston in 1989 and moved to Lakeway, Texas.
She especially enjoyed singing barbershop harmony with the Sweet Adelines in Houston and Lakeway's Wildflowers and Sing-a-Long groups. During retirement, John and Pat traveled extensively and spent many enjoyable times with their children and six granddaughters. In 2013, she became a great-grandmother. "Live, love, laugh" was Pat's motto in life. She loved music, singing, theater and old movies as well as family gatherings and get-togethers with friends. John and Pat were members of The Lakeway Church.
Patricia A. Rice is survived by her son John Steven Rice and daughter-in-law Gayle of Edinburg, Texas; daughter, Sheryl Ann Davis and son-in-law Russell of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Amanda Corneliusen, Angela, and Allison Rice and Michelle, Megan, and Melanie Davis; brother, Jim Hope and wife Betty from N. Little Rock, Arkansas; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held for family and friends at The Lakeway Church in Lakeway, Texas, on September 24th at 2:00 pm followed by a reception.
