Patricia Kathleen Stark

Patricia Kathleen Stark, of Lakeway, TX, passed away on November 17, 2019. She was born to Phyllis Coen Starr and Glen Robert Coen on February 28, 1963. Patty graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, CO, in 1981. She began studies at Colorado State University before moving to Cochise Community College earning a farrier science certificate. After moving to Houston, Patty received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake in 1987.

She married George Stark in 1984, and they moved all around the country before settling in Austin, TX. Patty is survived by her husband George and two children; Kelley and Jeremy. She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis, two brothers Bob and Steve, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia loved to love on people and always made them feel special. She would go to extreme lengths to make sure that everyone was taken care of and were well fed. She worked various jobs throughout her young life. From McDonald’s, where she met George, to spending almost fifteen years as a wedding advisor helping young couples get their start on life.

She also left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to a family who has no idea what to do with it. So please, wait for an appropriate amount of time to get in touch and figure out how you can help. Like maybe tomorrow.

She always told the truth, even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. Her extensive vocabulary was one that was more than highly proficient at making sure you knew the right place to put that dish or picture frame.

Patricia was an accomplished chef, decorator and familial rock. She passed her appreciation of food and travel to both of her children, often traveling around the world with Kelley or George. She helped many people decorate and arrange their living spaces and was considered a “master table decorator” by many.

Patty was immensely proud of her family and the home she cultivated. You could always find her supporting both family and friends-- giving time, energy, and personalized gifts.

Friends and family are invited to the memorial service Saturday, December 14, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, TX. There will be a celebration of life at the same venue immediately following the service.
