To Ray's family,  I confess that I was not a personal friend of Ray's, but I graduated from WTHS  in 1948.  As a frosh, I did not like basketball at all.  Then someone "dragged" me to a game in late '46 or 1947 when Ray played on an unbelievable team with players lake Dave Allen, George Clark and others.  I don't think I have missed a high school basketball game since. Ray and a player named Elsbury impressed me a good deal.  I was unable to go out for BB while we had a team ranked 1st in the state, and Ray was a big part of it.  I spent three and one half years in Amarillo, TX in the Air Force and I played a little during those years.  I only wish I had had the talent of Ray and his teammates.  I always end up talking about that team when the subject of  BB comes up.  May Ray rest in peace, and I extend my prayers to his family.

Jill, Jim, Travis, Jordan and Mitzi we are sorry for your loss. We knew Ray for only a short while, but loved his smile and enthusiasm for life.  He was always so kind to us.  We pray God shows you favor and comforts your hearts.

I am sorry for your loss.  My memories of your father are filled with fun and laughter.  I remember tail-gating at the Texas football games and the tape of the college "fight-songs" he would play, greeting those who passed by going to the game.  He will be missed.
