Richard "Dick" H. Miner

Richard H. “Dick” Miner entered eternity to join the Lord and his beloved wife, Lois, on July 15, 2026, in Lakeway, Texas. His extraordinary 95 years were filled with travel, adventure, pioneering work in television production beginning in the 1950s, the joy of raising five children, entrepreneurial pursuits, and friendships formed around the world through his joyful spirit.

Dick was born on February 26, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Harry and Zura Miner. At 17, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. After returning home, he married his sweetheart, Lois Bray, and together they set out for New York City for him to learn the emerging art of television production.

That career led Dick and Lois to live across Wisconsin, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and finally Austin, Texas. After retiring from television, Dick served as communications director for the Diocese of Austin, where he oversaw communications for Pope John Paul II’s 1987 visit to Texas.

Dick was deeply involved in every community he called home. Whether boating in Scituate, MA and on Lake Travis, directing a high school variety show, serving as HOA president, participating in church activities, or lending a helping hand whenever needed, he gave generously of his time and presence.

His hospitality was boundless, and Miner gatherings at the Lakehouse were renowned. In his later years in assisted living, Dick was known for his great smile, quick humor, and unwavering optimism.

Dick will be lovingly remembered by his five children: Thom Miner; Denise Miner-Williams (Floyd); Lori Alexander; Carol Holmes (Frank); and MaryAnne Malicki (Jim).

“Grandad” will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren and their families: Megan Williams (Austin), the late Sarah Williams, Zach Williams, Zane and Vance Perkins, Colleen (Chris), and Amy Miner, as well as by ten great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and joy that will be cherished for generations. To Dick, everything was the very best it could be.

• Visitation and Rosary: August 3, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway.

• Funeral Mass: August 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway.
