Robert "Bob" Eugene White

Robert (Bob) Eugene White was called to his eternal home in heaven on August 13, 2013, after battling cancer for the last two years. Bob was born in Jacksonville, Texas on June 21, 1929, to Hardy and Naomi White and spent most of his life living in Texas. He married Joyce Gill on December 23, 1950 and remained happily married to her for 62 years. On May 24, 1948, Bob graduated from Lon Morris College where he studied Pre-Law. He then began working as a Switchman for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Bob was drafted into the army on his wedding day, served our country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on Jan. 25, 1953. He returned to work for SWB Telephone where he worked his entire career and retired after 38 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, and brothers, Elsie Brackett, Elizabeth Cash, Edwin White, and Ladell White.

He is survived in death by his wife Joyce and their 4 children and spouses, Randy and Georgia White, Vicki and Tom Volick, Steve and Michille White, and Cheryl and Dennis Lisandrillo and by their 17 grandchildren, 27 great children, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a strong Christian man and served God in many churches as a Deacon and an Elder. We are all saddened to see him go and he will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank "Hospice in the Hills" for taking wonderful care of him during these last difficult months.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, August 23rd. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 24th at the Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd., at 3:00 pm with interment to follow at the Memorial Gardens.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to either the Lakeway Church or the American Cancer Society.
