Rodney was extremely talented in many ways and made a long-time career for himself as a carpenter. In 2004, he became a locksmith and most recently worked for the University of Texas.
Craftsmanship was only one of the several skills and hobbies that Rodney possessed. He was a very gifted songwriter and musician and loved gardening and woodworking. Rodney enjoyed giving away his homemade salsa, and family members could also expect hand crafted wooden boxes, specially designed pens or pocket watches. Rodney was also a golfer and avid fisherman, spending hours on Lake Austin or on the Texas coast.
Those of us who love and knew him are forever grateful to have had him in our lives and will miss him deeply.
Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his daughters, Sarah and Juliana, whom he loved dearly.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Helen Marie Schoen (née Pittsford) & Jack Nunnelee Sr., brother Jack Nunnelee Jr., and stepfather Wallace Schoen Sr.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Lopez (Freddy), and Juliana Webb (Jack), grandchildren Hannah, Houston & Hewitt; great-granddaughter Lyra, brothers Daniel Nunnelee (Faye), and Wallace Schoen Jr (Emma), nieces & nephews Elizabeth, Eric, Trevor & Krystal, numerous great nieces & nephews, as well as other friends and loved ones.
A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date.
