Scott was born on June 12, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Wallace E. and Juanita L. (Proulx) Myers. The family moved to Texas when he was a young boy where Scott grew up alongside his brother, Dale. Their childhood was filled with adventure—days spent roaming the land with BB guns and packed lunches, returning only when the sun went down. Daily chores included tending the garden and mowing the lawn by hand—something their parents only upgraded to a tractor for, after the boys had moved out.
Scott graduated from Burnet High School in 1985, where he was a proud member of the marching band, playing the baritone, the clarinet and the tuba. Music was a lifelong passion for Scott. Influenced by his mother's barbershop quartet singing and long afternoons spent listening to records with Dale, he became a devoted fan of bands like The Eagles and Queen. He even made mixtapes from the radio, introducing each song like a true DJ. He also had a deep love for reading, particularly American history, military stories, and thrillers, with authors like Tom Clancy, James Patterson, and Patrick O'Donnell among his favorites.
After high school, Scott joined the United States Army, beginning a life marked by service, hard work, and strong relationships. In 2002, on his birthday, he met the love of his life, Christy, at Moon River Bar & Grill. Their connection was instant, and the memories they made there—later as patrons and colleagues—became a joyful chapter in their lives.
Scott went on to work as a mechanic at Unlimited Power Sports and later at Professional Civil Process, where he formed lasting friendships and was admired for his kind spirit and work ethic.
He and Christy were married May 19, 2007. They shared a deep love for the simple things in life: cooking meals together, dancing in the living room, listening to music, and enjoying time outdoors. Scott loved “lake life,” camping, shooting, and gathering around campfires with friends and family. He had recently taken up gardening and smoking meats—perfecting his chicken and ribs to the delight of everyone lucky enough to try them.
Scott treasured time with family above all. He loved adventure, whether that meant escape rooms, concerts, or travel. One of his most cherished memories was a summer 2024 trip to Colorado Springs with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren—a time filled with laughter and love.
Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Christy Baggarly Myers; his daughter, Lillian (Jacob) Cornelison; grandchildren, Mya and Isaiah; his mother, Juanita Louise Myers; and his brother, Dale (Kassy) Myers. He also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws—and a few beloved “outlaws.”
Scottie will be remembered for his generous heart, sharp wit, deep love for music and history, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He lived a life full of meaning, connection, and joy.
A memorial celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday August 9, 2025 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, located at 411 Ranch Road 620 South in Lakeway, TX 78734
