Shirley Peek was a remarkable woman. She was smart, capable and devoted to getting the job done right. She was my administrative assistant, office manager and secretary and much more. I came in to the Texas House of Representatives in 1971 and Shirley started working for me in 1972 and continued for some 10 years helping me learn the Legislative process and really helping me mature to the job because I was still in my twenties when she started. I saw her grace and ability to take care of people in all types of different and difficult situations. She loved her husband Jim and her two sons John and Robert. She was loyal and gracious to all. She had a wonderful life. I am glad to have been a part of her life and able to work with her then maintain a friendship throughout the rest of her life. Shirley will be missed and always happily remembered.
May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed Rest In Peace.
Love to Shirley’s family.
