

Born December 2, 1936 in Austin, Texas an only child to Relda and Van W. Spinks, she lived in Llano, Texas as a young girl. After the depression, her family returned to Austin where her father was a prominent home builder in South Austin in the 50's. She graduated from Travis High school in 1955 and earned her Registered Nursing degree from the Seton School of Nursing in 1957.
Vaniece married Sterling "Bubba" Swift in 1959. They were married 37 years, had three children, and were members of University Christian Church in Austin. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling the US in their RV until Bubba's sudden death in 1998.
Vaniece was a traveling home health nurse for the Texas Dept. of Health, an Austin ISD school nurse and a successful Realtor for a short time, earning several top sales awards in the 80's.
She was a talented pianist in her youth, artist, choir member, bible student, savvy business woman, gardener, bird watcher, and pet lover. Vaniece was a devoted and loyal daughter, wife, mother and grandmother of eight grandchildren, whom she was extremely proud of and loved dearly.
She remained widowed, living in Austin, Marble Falls and Georgetown-Sun City until 2011 when she married her dear friend, James P. Rambin of Liberty Hill, TX. They built a beautiful house together, traveled and were happily married for four wonderful years. She loved him so. They were members of First Baptist Church, Marble Falls and had many dear friends.
Vaniece is survived by her husband, James Rambin of Round Mountain, TX; son and daughter-in-law Randall and Melissa Swift of Dripping Springs, TX; son and daughter-in-law Van P. and Kay Swift of Austin, TX; daughter and son-in-law Jenalie and Shelby Lowe of Cypress, TX; grandchildren: Callie, Cara, Clayton, Lauren, Nash, Christen, Meghan, Hannah and preceded in death by, Jett and Jackson; a niece and two nephews.
Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on Monday, September 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and services will be held in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Wallace Mountain Cemetery in Dripping Springs.
