Wilbur (Bill) Arnold, 80, beloved husband and father, went home to be with Jesus on January 13, 2021, due to complications from Covid-19. He was born on July 2, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. As the youngest and last surviving of eleven children, Bill leaves many family members in his home state of Ohio.
Immediately after graduating from George Junior Republic School in NY, Bill enlisted in the US Army. It was during his first assignment in Seoul, Korea where he met and married Nan. They enjoyed a full life together raising their children while traveling the world as a military family. Bill proudly served in the US Army for 26 years and retired as a Sergeant Major while making their home in California.
Taking care of his family was Bill’s priority and joy. He was instrumental in assisting Nan’s family relocate to the US and fully embraced his role as patriarch of his new family. His greatest sorrow was to be preceded in death by Nan after 52 years of marriage. Bill is deeply mourned by his children Susan Harmon (David), Bob Arnold (Jennifer), Cathy Calderara (Norman), seven grand children and extended family. He leaves a legacy of love and commitment to family.
The family will be having a private graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, California.
