William Henry Friloux Jr.
January 26, 1965 – March 23, 2021
William Henry Friloux, Junior of Lakeway, TX was born on January 26th, 1966 in Houston, TX and passed from this life on March 23rd, 2021. His family and friends called him Will.
Will graduated from Eisenhower High School in Houston, TX. He excelled in many sports and activities including baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf. You could often find Will fishing in the golf course ponds most days. Throughout his life, Will would never walk by a piano without playing it. He was an immensely talented piano player.
Will went on to study Computer Science and Economics at The University of Texas, Austin. He worked as a software developer, programmer and coder, creating critical software solutions for a host of clientele across the country. His business trips to Las Vegas were a favorite.
Will lived the last 15 years in Lakeway, TX, co-parenting his two daughters, Ava and Audrey. Will loved to play golf with his friends, to fish, and to compete in a bowling league with his buddies. He loved to meet up with friends after work or after a round of golf. Will also loved hunting and fishing at his family’s Texas ranch. Those who knew him will always remember how he loved Elton John and Heart, how he loved to tell stories and could be considered a professional ‘pot-stirrer’. He loved to coax people into debate and “stir the pot”. He loved to laugh. Will was so proud of his two girl’s accomplishments and attended most every competition or performance.
Will is survived by his daughters, Ava Pearl and Audrey Lynn, whom he loved very much, his mother, Oueida Evelyn Squyers, his sisters Rhetta Shultz and Kimberly Cox, brothers-in-law Bill Shultz and Kurt Cox, nieces and nephews Sarah Zeigler, Melanie Love, Jonathan Shultz, Christopher Cox, Megan Danna, Jessica Gray, and Zachary Cox, and great-nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends both near and far. Will is preceded in death by his father, William (Buddy) Henry Friloux.
A memorial service to celebrate Will’s life will be held at The Hills Country Club in The Hills, TX on April 6th at 11:30am. Family and friends will speak, and hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments will be served. A private viewing will be held for the family only. At a later date, Will’s ashes will be buried in the family cemetery near their Normangee, Texas ranch.

Will attended my outdoor, permit-authorized wedding in Jackson Square Park in New Orleans in 2002. I had a lot on my mind as our guests were arriving and being seated, but I remember seeing Will approach a homeless man on a nearby bench and begin speaking with him. Found out later that Will took the initiative to clear the area by offering to buy the man –and himself -- an ice cream cone just outside the park. Thanks, Will.
Rest in Peace.

Will was a genuine friend. The kind that even after being out of contact for several years just picked up right where we left off as if we had talked the day before. He gave me the only nickname I have. I requested he program something a certain way while working together with him in my home studio. He said "Aaahhh, yes Yoda" and it stuck. I'll never forget the first time he sat down at a piano in my presence. I was flabbergasted at the beautiful music since I had no prior knowledge he had that ability. Truly multitalented, he was extremely competent at anything he attempted. My deepest condolences to his family. He will forever hold a place in my heart. A very good man, gone way too soon.
