William T. Leonard (Jr)., lovingly known as Bill, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 15, 2026, after a yearlong battle with colon cancer. He was born on November 21, 1940, in Kingston, New York.
Bill lived a life defined by determination, generosity, humor, and deep love for his family and friends. A graduate of Fordham University, he built an impressive career in computer sales that
eventually led him to become a CEO. His strong work ethic, motivation, and drive were evident in everything he pursued.
Outside of work, Bill embraced life fully. He loved traveling and treasured the experiences and memories made along the way. One of his favorite pastimes was sprint car racing at Ventura Raceway, where, as family and friends fondly recall, he spent more time crashing than racing — a memory that always brought laughter and smiles.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Leonard (Brophy), his daughter, Patricia White (Leonard) and parents William T Leonard (Sr.) and Elizabeth Leonard (Heybruck).
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Leonard; his daughter, Alicia Koslov (Leonard); his son, William P. Leonard; his stepdaughter, Amanda Sandmore; as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Kovacs (Leonard).
One of Bill’s greatest blessings was being able to celebrate life surrounded by four generations of family during a special “Going Away” party in Costa Rica. The gathering reflected exactly what
mattered most to him — family, love, laughter, and togetherness.
Bill was a man who always made sure others had what they needed, and if they didn’t, he found a way to help. Though strong, driven, and ambitious, he also had a deeply compassionate heart. He could easily tear up watching commercials about endangered animals or children in need, a quiet reminder of the tenderness beneath his tough exterior.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of resilience, generosity, humor, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
