

Alicia Reyes better known as Mamang Ely, peacefully passed away in her home at Palmdale, CA on March 15, 2024 at the age of 91. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Celia Basa, her brothers Jaime Alicdan and Raul Alicdan. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Benigno Reyes, their daughter Jennifer Reyes, their son Nicholas Villamil and his wife Agnes, her five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great-grandson, her sister Marita Gandia and her husband Roberto, and her many loving nieces and nephews.
In her youth, Alicia acted in Filipino Cinema. One of the movies she appeared in "Sisang Tabak” 1958 with star Lilia Dizon. She also tutored English in Thailand where she and her husband lived for a short time.
She immigrated to the United States in 1979 and worked at Goldilocks Bake Shop for many years. When she retired, she started baby sitting, and those kids remained close today. She had much love from all the people who became family to her here.
Alicia loved spending time with family and friends, telling stories, dancing, singing, and having a great time. She especially loved going to the casinos. She lived a good and full life filled with love, fun and laughter until the very end. She will be missed and in our hearts always!
On Thursday, April 18, 2024 a funeral mass will be held at 10AM in Holy Family Catholic Church 18708 Clarkdale Ave. Artesia, CA 90701.
