Billie James Proffitt of Lancaster, born September 8, 1932 in Hico, Texas, went to be with our Lord Jesus on November 5, 2013. Billie grew up in Texas and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He was a successful businessman over the past 57 years, owning service stations and real estate firm. Billie was an avid golfer and enjoyed the camaraderie of his many long-time golfing partners. He was actively involved in the local Elks Lodge and Lancaster Senior Center where he also enjoyed the interaction and friendship of many associates.
In 2002, Billie celebrated 50 years of marriage with Loura Johnston Proffitt. He is preceded by his beloved wife, and he is survived by his son, Tom Proffitt;daughter,Judi Power;son-in-law , John Power; daughter, Joy Vierra; son-in-law, David Vierra;eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Joshua Memorial Park, 808 East Lancaster Blvd. Golf attire welcomed.
