Catalina passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side after long struggles with her health. Our mom Cathy, as her friends know her, grew up in Lomita, Calif. She met the love of her life, our father John, at a dance, married shortly after and settled in Torrance, Calif. In her young adult life mom was a hair dresser and homemaker. They moved from Torrance to the rural life of Lancaster to raise their family. She found her wonderful artistic side later in life and expressed it in tole painting, sharing her pieces with many. She loved baseball and was a die-hard fan of her adored SF Giants. Mom was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a woman with a big heart, who loved to help others. She was a good listener and a great friend to many. She loved the Lord and had a personal relationship with Him and is now resting in His loving arms. She is survived by her children; son Dick, wife Diana, granddaughter’s Cathy and Nicol; son Robert, wife Kathleen, grandson’s Bo, Buck and Sam; son Frank, wife Joanne, grandson’s Steven, Mark and Kenny; daughter Christina, partner Dave, grandson’s John-Michael and Matthew; and daughter and loving care-giver Alicia, granddaughter Sarah. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Father Serra Parish 42121 N. 60th St. W. Quartz Hill, Calif. Interment will follow at Joshua Memorial Park 44607 Challenger Way Lancaster, Calif.
