

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecilio Arriba, a man whose love for life, family, and friends left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Born on May 15, 1950, he was married to the late May Arriba, sharing a love that was as deep as the ocean he cherished. Retiring at the young age of 50, he filled his days with adventure, passion, and dedication to his loved ones.
Cecilio Arriba was a devoted father to his four daughters, an adored grandfather to 17 grandchildren, and a beloved great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren. He also held close his Hanai (adopted) grandchildren—4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren—who he embraced wholeheartedly as his own. He had an infectious joy for life that naturally drew people to him, and he built many friendships along the way.
Living in Hawaii, he loved nothing more than the sea, spending countless hours boating, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, and spear fishing. His heart always beats for the ocean. Later in California, he found new joys in pier fishing and continued his passion for the open waters. His pastimes expanded beyond the sea—he delighted in cooking, BBQing, gardening, and the thrill of gambling. His charm and sense of humor made him the life of any gathering, and his gift for storytelling left everyone smiling or laughing.
Cecilio Arriba was a man who radiated love, laughter, and a genuine warmth. His spirit was magnetic, his laughter contagious, and his kindness boundless. He will forever be remembered as a caring and playful father, a doting grandfather, and a wonderful friend. Cecilio Arriba was truly loved, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his loving family and countless friends who cherished his warmth and wisdom. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
