In Loving Memory of Charles Frank "Pops" Ebenhack
Charles Frank Ebenhack, lovingly known as "Pops," passed away on June 5, 2026, at Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, California, at the age of 85.
Charles was born on April 14, 1941, in Ohio. His early life was marked by hardship. He spent much of his childhood on a farm where he was raised by his paternal grandparents after being separated from his mother, Millie at a young age. In his thirties, he was united with his mother and his three siblings, brothers Bill and Larry and sister Gayle uniting a connection that had been absent for many years.
If one word could describe Chuck, it would be protective.
A United States Marine through and through—first, last, and always—he dedicated his life to serving, protecting, and providing. Whether serving his country, caring for his family, or standing guard over those he loved, Chuck carried himself with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty.
He was a man of few words. Often, the tightening of his jaw and a look in his eyes were all the warning anyone needed that they had crossed a line. Yet beneath that tough exterior was a man whose family always felt safe in his presence. His daughter recalls knowing she was protected simply because her Dad slept above her, the sound of a fog horn snore being a constant reminder of his presence. True to form, Chuck even kept a double-barrel shotgun affectionately named "Bertha" by his bedside—a testament to his lifelong commitment to protecting those he loved.
Chuck leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Carmen Marie Ebenhack; his sons, Chuck Ebenhack, John Eisenman, and Butch Ebenhack; and his daughters,Debbie & Maria Cox.
Grandchildren;John Charles, Charlie, Nicole, Amanda. Brandy and Holly, Christian and Jessica Emily. And great grandkids.
He will be remembered as a good man, a Marine, a provider, a protector, and a father whose quiet strength gave comfort to those fortunate enough to call him family.
Semper Fi, Pops. Your watch has ended, but your love and protection remain with us always.
