David Barron Simpson

Mr. David Barron Simpson 77, of Oakwood, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. graveside service and viewing will be held from 9-11:00 a.m.

Mr. Simpson was born on May 29, 1940 in Greenville, SC to the late Adger Hoffman Simpson and Laura Barron Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a Veteran of the US Navy. He was retired from the City of Glendale Power Plant where he was a supervisor and was of Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Yale Simpson and son in law, James Walter May.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his daughter and son in law, Stacey May Franklin (Lee) of Oakwood; grandson, James David May and girlfriend Rachael Graham; granddaughter, Trista Sharon May; grandson , Jacob Lee Franklin; grandson, London Scout Franklin; son and daughter in law, Stephen "Steve" Simpson (Amy) of Brentwood , CA grandson Sean Simpson: son and daughter in law, Scott L. Simpson (Liz) of Hesperia, CA grandson and wife, Mile Alvery (Tabbetha); granddaughter and husband, Candice Syder (Brandon); grandson and wife, Thomas Alvery (Stephaine): granddaughter, Samantha Simpson and fiancé Josh Ensz; brother Jerry Simpson of Pelzer, SC Shelia Yates and nephew Geoff Yale. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the Susan G Komen Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
