Dexter was a great man to know and work with. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family and friends.

Dexter was a great man. Always a pleasure to work alongside. Always had a great attitude and a sense of humor. Those of us who worked with him have wonderful memories of him.

I worked at campus Scudder for 10 years and for much of that time I work with Dexter. He was a positive smiling face who was always very approachable and fun to be around. He was serious about his assignment at camp, observant with the population that we work with, and it was always a pleasure to hear his insights about the kids, who we supervised during our work hours. He will be missed.

My prayers and condolences to the family! He was a fair & good man that many respected at work. Well done faithful servant and take solace in knowing to be absent from the body is to be present  with the LORD!

My sincerest condolences to the family of Dexter King. I knew him as Mr. King. I had the pleasure of working alongside him for a little over a year back in 2010. It was one of my most memorable and favorable time. A pure and gentle soul. His heart and kindness are unmatched. I used to assist him with his daily paperwork. He supported me like no other supervisor. He believed in me and always pushed me towards greatness. He used to talk about me for how slow I moved. He would always say that he moved faster than me. He actually wrote in my evaluation that I moved with a galacious glide. The stories he told to teach the kids a lesson, which he later admitted, many of them were untrue. They sure had me in awe. He had a sense of humor like no other. He taught me the importance of giving and how taking a gentler approach goes along way. I've got the giving part down packed, I'm still working on the gentle part. He always wanted to do something special for the kids. Always! We cooked and ate well. Work was fun and purposeful under his leadership. Everyone respected him. I was so technical and by the book. He also taught me to not take things so seriously and allowed me and encouraged me to do everything against policy, if it benefited me, the kids, and the greater good of all. Who else would do the store runs for our bbqs if I didn't leave the facility. He trusted me with a lot. I love how he adored his family. Some of you all got on his nerves, but he loved you all the same. I hate that I didn't keep in touch with him, but I've never forgotten him and I never will. I know his presence will forever be felt. I can write a book. How blessed I am to have crossed his path. May he rest well!
