June 9, 1947 – October 4, 2026
Donna Dee Stump, 79, of Rosamond, California, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at Treasure Heritage Residential Care in Lancaster, California.
Donna was born on June 9, 1947, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Billie Trainor and John Nietch.
Donna was a one-of-a-kind woman with a feisty spirit and a personality that could never be forgotten. She was never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind and never believed in sugarcoating things. She was upfront, honest, and always true to herself. But beneath that strong and spirited personality was a heart filled with an incredible amount of love, especially for her family.
Family meant everything to Donna. She cherished every moment she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved being present for their activities, functions, and special events, always proud to watch them grow and make memories.
Donna had many things she enjoyed throughout her life. She loved crocheting and especially enjoyed making beautiful baby blankets and blankets for her grandchildren. Each one was made with love and became a special reminder of how much she cared for her family. She also enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and could often be found watching The Price Is Right with anyone willing to watch it alongside her.
Donna took pride in her career at California State Prison. She was also a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching Dodgers games with her late husband, Larry. Those who knew Donna will remember her for her strong personality, her humor, her kindness, her generosity, and the many special memories she created with the people she loved.
Donna is survived by her children, Kevin Polwort, Marianne Kennedy, and Robert Polwort; her grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica, Samantha, and Braydon; her great-grandchildren, Jason, Jordin, Jenna, Tayler, Thomas, Tayden, Tyrese, Tryston, Tyler, Trystina, Owen, and Aiden; and her sister, Linda Polwort.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry, with whom she shared many cherished memories.
A viewing service will be held at Joshua Memorial on Thursday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will follow on Friday, October 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. and a graveside service from 10:30am-11:30am. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held following the funeral at 44330 27th Street East, Lancaster, CA 93535.
Donna’s life was filled with family, laughter, love, and memories that will be treasured forever. She may no longer be here to tell it like it is, cheer for her Chiefs, watch the Dodgers, crochet a blanket, or gather with the people she loved, but her presence will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Donna will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
