August 15, 1925June 27, 2019

On Thursday June 27, 2019 Dorothy Mae Blackwood passed away at the age of 93. She was born in Spokane Washington and was the daughter of Howard and Beatrice Bullock. In 1942 she married William Andrew Blackwood, who at the time was serving in the United States Army. They were married in Yuma, Arizona and were married for 50 years. She resided in the Antelope Valley since 1976 when she and her husband moved to Lancaster. She was proceeded in death by her husband William who died September 1992 and her brother Eugene Bullock who passed in 2014. She was the loving mother of four children, Bill, Ken, Mary Zimmerman and Sandra Ponce. In addition to her children she was also very proud of her nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one on the way, three great-great grandchildren. She loved to share stories with friends of all her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s successes and accomplishments, always noting that each were special in their own way and that each held a special place in her heart. Her smile and loving heart will be missed by all that knew her and especially her family who loved her very much and miss her deeply

Dorothy was the best neighbor I ever had or will have. No matter what I needed she was there for me and and my family. She made us feel like we were her family. All the gifts she brought for my kid's Birthday and when she would come running to help me when I was in need of help she was always there for us. God bless you Mary and Sandy. Love and miss you all.
