Edward Andrew Drago

Edward Andrew Drago 63, of Lancaster CA passed away unexpectedly June 1, 2026, while on vacation in Las Vegas. Ed also “Eddie” "Saint Eddie” “Eddie Spaghetti” or “Dragon” was an adored, beloved, singular, unique, truly amazing and simply good human. Deb (His Wife) always said, “He is a diamond in a sea of glass”. He was born in Santa Monica, the fourth of five children born to loving parents Andrew Drago and Beatrice Carolyn (Eldert) Drago in Santa Monica California. Raised in a loving catholic family full of creative people, he attended Saint Monica’s High, Cal State Northridge and obtained his master’s degree in electrical engineering. He loved working for the DoD (now DoW) at Edwards Air Force Base for over 35 years as an Electrical Engineer supporting many critical missions.

Edward was the very definition of love in action (1 Corinthians 13:4) patient, trusting, never failing, protecting, humble, forgiving, generous and kind. Ed was intelligent, endlessly curious, and active with many accomplishments (Black belt in Taekwondo, Judging the NASA Robotics competition annually for young engineers, a universal blood donor [he donated more than 10 gal of blood to the Red Cross], logged more than 250+ skydives, was a self-described Pokémon Go grinder and fixture in the Poke community) with a naughty sense of humor (Favorite quote “It never got weird enough for me”) an infectious smile, and wicked giggle. A Burlesque “Superfan” he loved live performances and concerts (Jimmy Buffet especially) and music of all kinds, adventure and travel. He truly valued his loved ones, family, friends and spending time with them.

Edward went ahead to be with his first wife Charmaine Drago (who called him her “Prince Charming”) and his parents Andrew and Beatrice. And until we cross into the next room on the other side when we see him, his joy, laughter and very presence will be truly missed.

Edward is survived by his adoring wife Debborah Yatso-Drago, his siblings Philip (Lupe) Drago, Carolyn Drago, Marion (George) Plato, Larry Drago, MANY nieces and nephews, his stepdaughters Stephanie Klee, Melissa Trujillo, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Those that loved him or were touched by his life please join us in celebrating on July 14th 2026 starting at 2pm to 4pm. Dress in your best Jimmy Buffett/Margaritaville attire to celebrate and join us from 4-6 for TACO TUES at the Residence Inn at 847 west Lancaster blvd. Lancaster CA.
