away on October 29, 2015. She grew up on a farm in
Missouri as one of eight children. She loved school
and walked two miles everyday to the bus that would
take her to the one room schoolhouse. She went on to
graduate from high school in Missouri before traveling
with her brother Art and his wife Susie to California. It
was there that she met her husband Earl. On August
31, 1962 she graduated as a licensed vocational
nurse from Antelope Valley College and worked in
that field for many years. She was an avid reader and
also loved the outdoors, particularly fishing. Her
home in recent years was Prestige Assisted Living
where she was happy and made many good friends.
Effie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law
Barbara and Clifford Jahner, her son Frank Stevens,
granddaughters Jennifer Billodeaux and Amanda
Gehman, great grandchildren Jordan Williams and
Jackson Gehman, and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved very much and will be missed by all.
