

Age 82 passed away August 18, 2012, after a sudden illness at Palmdale Regional Medical Center. Emma was born May 17, 1930 in Schwabish-Hall,Germany, where she grew up and then met the love of her life, U.S. Army Sergeant Donald R. Stephens in 1949. After their marriage they came to the U.S. where Emma became a proud naturalized American citizen. As a wife of a military man they moved to many places in the world before retiring in Phoenix, Ariz.where she had been residing until the death of her husband, Donald in 2003. After which she moved to Calif. City Calif. to live with her son, John Stephens for nine more years. Her hobbies were soap operas, 99 cent stores , gardening and her cats. She has had cats her entire life.
He cats were her adopted babies. She always had an open heart for cats and could never turn away a cat in need. Her career was a simple one, her family. She had other jobs throughout her life, but her family was her main focus. She is the heart of our family and can never be replaced. Emma is the most loving wife, mother and grandmother that anyone could ever want. She would always put her family's needs above herself. A simple I love you and a hug was all she ever wanted. Her warm smile and big caring heart would always make you feel better. As we think of her life we will always remember and cherish the love that she filled our hearts with, but still we will feel the pain of not seeing her bright smiley face. She will be greatly missed by all that ever know and cared about her. Emma is preceded in death by her husband Donald, her sister Frieda, and parents Rudolf and Theresa Griessmayr. She is survived by her only son John, grandson Danny, granddaughter Tanya, sisters Theresa,Erika, Helga, Heidi, brothers Edward, Ernest and Paul. Graveside Services will be held at 5:00 P.M., Friday August 24, 2012 at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary in Lancaster Calif., she will be reunited and laid to rest next to her husband Donald, the love of her life.
