I was involved in many of Ernie's business ventures and he always had such an enthusiasm for everything he did.  I loved the relationship he had with his son Matt and was blessed to share in their family gatherings.  One time Ernie and Rhonda gave me a cake for my birthday.  Ernie was holding the cake as I blew out the candles and he noticed my hair was on fire, which later explained why he was banging me on the head.  Fortunately, he got the fire out.  I pray peace and comfort for all his family!

Ernie was my stepfather; I have known him for about 20 years when I was a teen we fought like cats and dogs. As I grew up he pushed me sometimes to my limits and he helped me to realize my own potential, sometimes we were best friends and others we were enemies but like it or not through it all we were and still are family. 
 Last year Ernie and my mom and kids came to Washington for the 4th of July, we had a wonderful time on the peninsula we played in the water, caught crabs and gooey ducks, swam, fished and played on the boat and kayaks and Ernie got to light off the big fireworks that he loved so much. During that time he and I also had a conversation and he told me about a day like today we talked about me being a kid and he was overjoyed to see the person that I grew up to be, he forgave me for some of the things I had said and done when I was a kid and so did I. During our conversation he told me he was okay with what was going on and he was going to live his life the way he wanted to with the love of his life and watching his children and grandchildren grow up in the rest of his days. Ernie affected so many of greatly and on so many levels it is hard to take this loss. A big part of my family is gone but never forgotten. 
As a man of deeds and very few words I try to be strong and show very little emotion or none at all, but as I shed a tear all I can say is “I will miss you.”

Papa, I did not get the chance to know you for too long but the time I did get with you I remember. Everynight I tell mom and dad that I miss you and I am sad that your heart broke. I love you Papa and I am going to miss you, but I know that my family will not let me forget you, and they will teach me things that you taught them. Help guide me through my choices papa. I love you.

My brother-in-law Ernie had a unique passion for any business he started.  The one I enjoyed the most was his espresso company, Pasquini.  This was way before Espresso shops were on every corner.  Ernie had hired my friend Ruth and me to help him at a star studded event in Santa Monica, CA.  Neither one of us had any experience then on making espressos.  Ernie gave us good simple instructions right before the event.  I will never forget the line of ‘stars' that waited while Ruth and I tried our best to make everyone happy.  One star was Harvey Korman from the Carol Burnett Show who was funny in person as well on the show. The event was a huge success due to Ernie's vision of bringing Pasquini to a parking lot.  My friend Ruth still has one of Ernie's Pasquini T-shirts.  This happy memory will always stay with me and my brother-in-law Ernie.

Ernie, words cannot express how much I am going to miss you. Since I really didn't get a chance to say goodbye, I guess this letter will have to suffice. So, here I go.

Ernie, having you as an Uncle has been a blessing in my life. Through the years, you have always opened your door up to me, gave me advice, and looked after me. Whenever we were together, you made it a point to sit down and talk to me about my life. You always made sure I was on the right track and was so proud of me when I accomplished my goals. One of my favorite things you did was make sure you met every boyfriend I had to see if they were good enough. I loved being that niece you looked after. Therefore, I am very sad you will not be there to see me walk down the aisle, but I know you will be smiling down on me in heaven. 
Thank you for making me such an important part of your life. When I look back, I am so happy I got to be in your wedding; I know how special that day meant to you.
Thank you for all the laughs, card games, jokes and stories you told. You have filled my life with joy and I will never forget you, your words of wisdom, and the love you have shown me.

Tartaglio family, Ernie was such a nice neighbor. I will miss seeing him wave as I passed by each day. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Ernie will be deeply missed. There are so many Holiday memories that we have of him throughout the years. He was always generous and shared Juliann's passion for family gatherings, especially at Christmas time. We recall so many times going to Ernie and Juliann's home and thinking, "Is this the Griswold's home?" We will always remember Ernie for his sense of humor. He enjoyed teasing and joking about anything. Our lives are forever changed by Ernie's life. Our hearts go out to Juliann and her family. We know how difficult times are now, but we also know without a doubt that Ernie would like nothing more than the smiles and good times to keep coming.

Papa I love u so much and I wish you were still here and I will miss u making me laugh and I will always want you to be here but I'll always think about you. Being in your house makes me think there is something missing. I hope you can see how much grandma is crying ,that is how much she loves you.I love you just as much.I really love you so much and I wrote something for you that I'll read at the funeral and I also made you something for Father's Day. I just want you to know that I love you so much :)

Papa, it's hard for me to realize the fact that you are gone, it still feels like you're here with us. Death is just a door to a new world, and I know I will see you again. At least you're in peace and hopefully very happy where you are now. You have always been the best grandpa anyone could ask for. Every memory I shared with you was always wonderful, and I'm grateful to call you my grandfather.

Through the years you have been there for me & my family. You have basically watched me grow-up. You have watched Kelsey & Dylan grow up too. We love you so much. I have so many memories with you that I keep on playing over & over in my head wishing I could rewind & have all the memories back. Thanksgiving & Christmas Holidays were the GREATEST. Getting up the day after Thanksgiving & go stand in line at 3 or 4 am in moring waiting for Walmart to open. We always had a blast. All the family get togethers were a blast. I know I wasn't around the last few years, but you were always on my mind. 
I Love & Miss you so much. You have always been a Father Figure to me. You will always be in my heart. I want to Thank You for everything you have done.

I don't know how to start this, and I really have no clue what to say. I never allowed myself to be as close to my Papa Ernie as I wanted to be, and probably as close as he wanted us to be. I regret not spending enough time with him, and everyone always told me "You never know what could happen, you should go see him", but I always got caught up in my own life and myself. It was really selfish of me, but my papa always understood. Every time I talked to him, he'd always be happy with whatever I was doing. The holidays were my absolute favorite time of the year because I got to see my papa. I loved sitting in the kitchen with him to talk. 

I loved how he always had to be okay. Every single time I asked if he was okay or how he was doing, it was impossible for him to feel bad, or admit to feeling bad. I know the last few times I had talked to him, he wasn't doing so good. And it made me worry, and I had always wanted to go see him but I never did. It breaks my heart now, and it's overwhelming, but I know that he feels better. 

I appreciate everything my papa has ever told me. I appreciate more than anything him meeting my boyfriend, and making sure he would take good care of me. And he is. I appreciate him for always reminding me of how much he always missed me. I appreciate my dad for being just like my papa, and he's never admitted to it, but they're the same, and I love that. 

My papa was an amazing person and a wonderful grandpa to me. You will always be a huge part of me, and I never showed you how much I truly love you, but I love you papa. I miss the way you'd say hi and the way you always kept things happy. I miss you papa. I know you're with me and you always will be, along with everyone else. I'll see you again someday.

Matt, I am so sorry about your dad. I know you miss him very much.

WE were best buddies growing up.....Arcade on the weekends, pinball, little league, yard work, star wars collecting, teaching me to drive, Armenian Deli and more.....Through the years, it was great growing up with a dad like you....Lots of fun....I would enjoy going to work with you....Alta Dena, Radio Shack, Winchell's and more....I know you worked hard in life....You taught me to work hard.....
I enjoyed the times we talked and laughed always.....I appreciate you loving my daughters as much as you did.....you have touched their lives and hearts forever and that means a lot to me.....

Despite our difficulties at times, I love you with all my heart.  I pray and know that you are at peace....and with our heavenly father above.  May you be happy and the full of spirit and laugher as you were here with us on earth.....I miss you..

Ernie was my buddy, my friend and my adviser. He had a huge heart and was always there when we needed him. He always had a smile on his face and was full of life. When my husband died and my children and I were alone on holidays he and Julianne would include us in their family celebrations.He always helped me fix things or had the right tool to fix whatever it was. I feel like I have lost a member of my own family,and he will be greatly missed! He was a great guy! I hope you a resting peacefully now and are watching over us like you have for the past few years. RIP We love you!!!!

I WAS SO BLESSES TO BE ABLE TO SPEND THE LAST 23 YEARS OF ERNIES LIFE WITH HIM. HE WAS AN AMAZING MAN. WE HAD 7 WONDERFUL CHILDREN AND 7 GRANDCHILDREN ALL GIRLS WITCH HE LOVED BEING WITH,SHARING HIS STORIES AND MAKING THEM LAUGH. ERNIE LOVED LIFE. I am very blessed to of had the love of a truly amazing man. Ernie was my mentor. my teacher. my partner. the conscience on my shoulder and my dad but most of all he was my friend. I'm sure we all have that In common on some level. God knows we had our differences but it eases my heart to know that for the last few years I I have spent almost every day in his company and I will treasure and value those moments forever. He taught me about Family. Love. Respect. Perseverance. And dignity. But most of all to always believe in myself and never to give up. I truly believe that he will rest easy now in his castle and tend to his vineyard in heaven till the day we meet again. Watching over our family. I love you Ern. I promise i wont let you down. There are many memories I have of my Uncle Ernie. Teaching me to play 1,2,3. One of my fondest memories was watching him dance and be goofy. He truly was an extraordinary man. So full of life and love to give. A cherished father and a soul-mate of a husband. You were very much loved and have taught me how special our family really is. I wish I could have spent more time with you and I'm so sorry for unspoken apologies. I know you can hear me when I prayed for you and you know what I wanted to say. Natalia misses you so much too. She remembers our last Christmas together. We love and miss you so much and please watch over our family.

I have had a rare honor  of having Ernie Tartaglio as my stepdad and father-in-law. We had our differences through my growing up however, I was able to set those aside and build a relationship which I have very fond memories of the talks we shared, places we visited and the love for the beautiful gardens. He loved bragging about his tomatoes. No one could grow them like him. He loved me as his own and gave me good advice as I grew into who I am today. He has been a wonderful part of my children's lives. I know he loved them very much as a papa should. He will been very much missed. I know he is home with our heavenly father, playing cards in clouds above.
