

Coffey , Eugene R. Born November 19, 1931 in Leavenworth, Kan., passed away March 20, 2016 in Lancaster, California. Eugene served in the Navy and then lived in the Av for 24 years. Eugene was very kind hearted and showed his family unconditional love. His life was full and never boring. His love for his family was the driving force of this life. Singing was his passion, from church choir to Karaoke. Eugene's career as a soundman covered a wide variety of jobs from 30 years as an NBC News Soundman in which he had a different adventure everyday spanning from going to Dallas for the Kennedy Assassination to being first news crew at Sharon Tate's house and covering the Manson Murder trials, other sound related jobs were in motion pictures from being a sound recordist on West Side Story to a Sound transfer engineer for many feature films. He loved his work and was always recording something. Eugene is survived by his wife, Noreen Olvis Coffey, Son Mark (Marcy) Coffey; daughters: Lori Coffey, Stephanie Coffey and Robin Vukonich; grandchildren Mason Elvidge and Elizabeth Coffey; brothers: Pat Coffey , Chuck Coffey and Jerry Coffey. Services as scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary Lancaster California.
