Evelyn Shreves

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful, caring, passionate, strong and loving woman, Evelyn Shreves. She passed away on April 16, 2011, in Lancaster, California from colon cancer. She had a passion for sewing. She was a seamstress at Gottschalks Department store. Evelyn and her late husband Myron Shreves loved to travel, he was her only love and her Knight Shining Armor. Her talent in speaking and understanding Spanish led her to volunteer at Grace Chapel Church. She was able to help and communicate to the Latino Culture their needs. She established a close relationship with the members of Grace Chapel Church. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother Roberto (Bella) Calixto, her nephew Rosenberg (Jennifer) Calixto, niece Robella Calixto and two grandchildren, Nicole and Stanberg Calixto. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011, with Services at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011, both at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
