Jane was one of the WWII generation, patriotic to the core and fit in the amazing
woman category, recently climbing up into Battleship Iowa in L.A. harbor. She
loved cross country driving and travelled in 48 of our 50 states. She saw Joe
DiMaggio play and was a Yankee fan her whole life.
She married her lifelong love, Russell, on June 26, 1954 and had 3
children, Craig, Janice and Mark.
She taught first grade and lived in Illinois 13 years, lived in NJ 13 years, Arizona,
13 years and Palmdale 24 years. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Sullivan,
her sister, Patricia Stalder, and her family, sister in law , Roxie Pantley, Jr. and
her family, sister-in-law, Joyce Christie and her family. A multitude of friends and
family will miss her home cooking, dished out with tons of love.
Jane was a soprano in college choir, where she met Russell (who could play
traditional pipe church organ by ear). She sang her whole life in church choirs and
retired at 80 years, from Lancaster United Methodist Church. Any donations
please forward to LUMC choir, 918 West Avenue J, Lancaster 93534. In the
spring, we will have a small choir concert for Jane with her favorite
traditional/classical hymns.
