

Our beloved Jeremy went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2014 at the age of 40 years and 9 months. Jeremy Ryan Whitman was born on April 27, 1973 at Wurtsmith A.F.B. in Oscoda, Michigan. He spent his childhood traveling with his military family to bases in the U.S. and Europe. The family moved to Edwards A.F.B. in 1989 where he attended high school. Jeremy attended Bible colleges and spent his adult life serving the Lord in Ministry at Lancaster Baptist Church.
Jeremy is survived by his wife of 18 years , Alicia Jones Whitman, two sons, Derek and Drew, and three daughters, Paige, Reagan, and Gwynne. He is survived by his mother and father, Keith and Nancy Whitman of Lancaster, California, one sister, Alyassa Whitman Lofgren(Jeremy) of Lancaster, California, one brother, Jason Whitman (Laura) of Banning, California and one grandmother, Betty Dill of Clio, Michigan. Jeremy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, along with hundreds of Christian brothers and sisters.
Jeremy loved the Lord Jesus Christ and it was his desire to see every person he met come to know Christ as Saviour. His life verse was Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;" His second love was his five precious children who gave him great joy in life. Jeremy loved his family, his pastor, Paul Chappell, and church family and gave endlessly of himself to make life better for everyone.
Jeremy will be greatly missed on this earth, but he is with his Saviour whom he served so faithfully while on earth. 2Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Lancaster Baptist Church and burial in Joshua Memorial Cemetery. The Whitman Children Education Fund has been established at Lancaster Baptist Church and more information about Jeremy Whitman can be viewed at paulchappell.com.
