I met JoAnn when I started the Independent Study program at HIghland High School in 1995. I was sent to see Katie Farnes at AV High School then over to see JoAnn at Palmdale HS. The four IS Clerks, JoAnn, Katie, Lauren & I became the IS team. We learned whatever new systems the district came up with when they sent us to conferences. We always had a blast together, whether it was in classes or after classes. It was a great friendship. JoAnn was always the best dressed, classiest person & so much fun. We also enjoyed time together outside of work. I will always remember our outings to Coaches for wings, potato skins & our beverages of choice, the first round which was always paid for by Greg Porterfield. She will be missed, but I am thankful for all the wonderful memories of our times shared.

I met Joann in 1994 when I started in Independent Study at Littlerock High School. I didn’t know anything about it so was told to go see JoAnn and that was the beginning of a friendship that lasted over 25 years. Together with Katie Farnes and Wendy Shaffer we were known as the I.S. Girls. We would go to conferences and lunch occasionally at Coaches for hot wings where Greg always bought our first round. We always had a great time together. After I.S. Was disbanded and we all got sent to different sites Joann and I wound up together at Quartz Hill High were she retired from. After she retired we still would try to go to lunch occasionally at Coaches and would keep in touch by phone. Joann had so much class and grace and I will miss her dearly. Dell you and the kids will be in my prayers. God bless
